Curb Your Enthusiasm is the critically acclaimed comedy series which stars Larry David (co-creator and executive producer of Seinfeld) as Larry David!Money. Security. Famous friends. Forgiving wife. Devoted manager. Larry David has it all, but just because you’ve made it, it doesn’t mean you’ve got it made, especially when you’re a “victim of circumstance”.
Surrounded by an eclectic mix of real and fictional recreations of his friends, acquaintances and outright enemies, prone to speaking the unspeakable, and honest to the point of insensitivity, Larry David is life’s scapegoat of misunderstanding and missed opportunities.
Cheryl Hines plays Larry’s wife Cheryl David without whom Larry David would surely be in prison by now. Jeff Garlin is Jeff Greene’s Larry’s rock and manager who is “always available”. Susie Essman acts as Jeff Greene’s loud, foul-mouthed, rude and very aggressive wife Susie who always has time to blast a portion of her rage towards Larry’s way. Then there’s Richard Lewis who, like Larry, also plays himself: Larry’s stand-up comedian friend who’s a “babbling brook of bullshit”.
Cheryl, Jeff, Susie and Richard have all been there for Larry throughout the six series run of Curb. They’ve witnessed, supported and occasionally hindered Larry’s endeavours to carve a post-Seinfeld life out for himself, which include numerous ill-fated attempts to pitch a new comedy, his plight to open a restaurant, a starring in a Broadway musical, a search for his “real” parents, and the housing of an Afro-American family’s home destroyed by a hurricane. Who else but Larry!
