Heroes - Mark Dolan
This next Comedy Lab hero is Channel 4 born and raised. He entered Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny competition and despite it being his first year in stand-up he managed to reach the final.
Well, the Channel 4 bods were pretty impressed by this feat and offered him a Comedy Lab.
The Comedy Lab Mr. Dolan created came to be known as The Richard Taylor Interviews. In the R.T.Is (as no-one's ever called it) we saw Richard (Mark Dolan) as the managing director of an estate agency, interviewing people for a job.
Concealed cameras and an elaborate set-up meant that these ambitious interviewees had no idea that this wasn't their first step on the career ladder.
The bizarre world of the job interview was shown in all its claustrophobic glory as these unfortunate candidates were put through the worst interviews of their lives.
Channel 4 must have noted Mark Dolan's credentials for putting the general public through excruciating humiliation because they went and gave him a job presenting Balls of Steel, which took the Trigger Happy TV baton and ran with it.
More recently Mark has been meeting hairy, fat, small and tall things for Channel 5. Bless.
