Sam Kinison

Sam Kinison was the foul mouthed comic notorious for his raunchy humour and wild, colourful outfits. A former revival-style preacher, his stand-up routines were most often characterised by intense, angry ranting punctuated by a trademark primal scream. Kinison died young but influenced a large number of comics, most notably Bill Hicks
Scott Capurro

Capurro's stand-up is known for its graphic detail and hard hitting style. He focuses predominantly on gay issues, his upbringing in San Francisco, his family and the Catholic church's attitude towards homosexuality. Audience members will often find themselves being drawn into the act!
Sean Hughes

Sean Hughes' off-the-wall and surreal humor in the late 80's led to him being the youngest ever recipient of the Perrier award at the age of 19. This in turn led to him getting his own TV show, Sean's Show. His dry sometimes sarcastic humour and ambivalent and often deliberately laboured delivery have contributed to his unique style.
Sean Lock

Lock has a hyperactive imagination and his stand-up consists of madcap, meandering observations. He is renowned for combining hilariously surreal imagery and insightful thoughts into the human condition with more than the odd twisted aside.
Shazia Mirza

Shazia Mirza's riveting style and hilarious self mocking material has led to her receiving international acclaim and respect from her fellow stand-ups. Sex (or her lack of it) has become central to her routines along with the killer line "My name Is Shazia Mirza… or at least that is what it says on my pilot's licence"
