Zoe is shocked to find Jack's body lying in the street.
Evelyn begs David to keep the twins' parenthood a secret, while Danny and Mark go out to the woods to discover exactly what, if anything, lies in the makeshift grave Mark dug for Jack.

Anxiety grows amongst the community and Bernard calls a meeting, creating an elaborate cover about Jack's past to explain away his murder.

Danny confronts Samantha with the dummy he and Mark found in Jack's grave and demands answers, but she threatens to go to Evelyn with the truth. Zoe questions Bernard's motives and goes to Tom with her suspicions. But like everybody else in Meadowlands, he has troubles of his own. David tells Evelyn that he won't lie about Danny's test results, and she should tell him herself, while Danny is agonising over whether to come clean to Evelyn. Tom and Zoe decide to conduct their own investigation into Jack's murder, discovering that all is not what it seems, and Freddie becomes concerned about their growing friendship.

Zoe breaks into Bernard's office, stealing not only Jack's case file, but Tom's too. Bernard returns with Ormond, now playing a new role in the story, to discover the break-in, and goes to tell Danny what Zoe is up to. Danny pays a visit to Tom, telling him to keep away from Zoe, but Tom has figured out that Danny was responsible for Jack's death. As Danny's about to leave, Tom receives an enigmatic phone call, and we learn exactly what it was that brought him to Meadowlands.

Danny lies to Zoe when she asks him if he killed Jack, and tells Bernard he wants to speak to Ormond in the hope of getting some answers about his involvement. But Ormond's answers simply raise a fresh set of questions.
