In 1985 the Delorean, with its stainless steel frame and gull wing doors, would achieve iconic status thanks to its role as a time machine in the film Back To The Future.
Unfortunately, however, the Belfast factory that made them went out of business in February 1982 with the loss of thousands of jobs and the company owner caught in a bizarre FBI sting operation after resorting to drug trafficking in order to rescue his crumbling auto-empire.
