Tim Eyes His Future 04-11-02, 09:28

Remember when Tim accused Big Brother of being prejudiced about people who wore contact lenses? Who could forget his pleas in the Diary Room that led to the infamous line 'Comprendez?'

Well, Tim need never feel prejudiced against again, after receiving laser eye treatment his vision is back to 20/20 and he's binned his contact lens for a clearer future.

The university graduate, who had worn contacts since his teenage years, recently booked himself in to eye-clinic Optimax in London, where he underwent Lasik treatment on both eyes.

The operation, which took just 15 minutes, took place back in September, and was filmed for daytime TV show This Morning, showing viewers the whole procedure, which involves flipping back the cornea of the eye, laser correcting the sight then reapplying the cornea!

Tim's op was performed by Optimax's renowned surgeon Dr Patel.

According to a spokesperson, Tim's operation took place in the morning, and "by that evening his vision was fine enough for him to go out to dinner," without using his contacts!

To ensure everything was well Tim returned to the clinic the next day, and has been back twice since, for a one week check-up and a one month check-up, and he'll soon be returning for his three month check-up.

So, was Tim's quarrel with Big Brother the reason behind his decision to get his vision fixed? Not according to an Optimax spokesperson, who said he'd contacted the company about 18 months before Big Brother to enquire about the operation.

And the man himself said the 10 minute procedure had "changed his life forever."

Let's hope Tim's future is as clear as his vision...comprendez?
