COMPETITION RULES
- Competitions featured on "The BIG Breakfast" and/or "The BIGGER Breakfast"
("the Programme") ("the Competition") are organised by Planet 24 Productions Limited
("Planet 24").
- No employee of Planet 24, Channel Four Television Corporation ("Channel 4"),
or the prize donor or their subsidiary or associated companies, or their agents or
members of their families or households shall be eligible to enter.
- Entrants may enter the Competition as many times as they like, but each entrant
may only win one prize in each Competition.
- In consideration of Planet 24 agreeing to consider entries to the Competition,
each entrant hereby assigns to Planet 24 the complete copyright and all other rights
in any entry (including any live or recorded telephone conversation or written entry)
which shall be for the full period of copyright. Planet 24 shall be free to assign such
rights to third parties.
- It is an overriding rule of all competitions featured on the Programme that
there shall be no factor not fully declared prior to entry which might grant or might
be perceived as granting any unfair advantage to an entrant. Furthermore, if there
is any material fact about an entrant which might result in publicity adverse to the
good name of the Programme that will render such entrant liable to disqualification,
and/or to forfeit of any prize. In all such matters, the decision of the judges
shall be final.
- The decisions of the judges are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion
concerning any decision shall be entered into. Prizes shall be awarded at Planet
24's discretion.
- The description of the prize and selection process in any Competition literature
or other medium is not binding and may be subject to change.
- All entry instructions given are deemed to form part of the rules of the competition
to which they relate.
- No cash or other alternatives will be offered in place of specified prizes.
- Where a prize may not be appropriate for a younger contestant, a minimum age for
entry will be stated and must be observed. The age of the entrant on the Competition
closing date shall apply. Planet 24 reserves the right to request written proof of
age of any winner.
- There is no purchase requirement to enter the Competition, although entrants
should note the competitions for which they are offered the opportunity to participate
by making a premium rate telephone call. The description of the individual Competition
will include a note showing the anticipated cost of any premium rate telephone call
made to enter a competition or a round of a competition. Entries are made at an entrant's
own expense and Planet 24 shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in
making an entry.
- Planet 24 reserves the right to require entrants to participate in a further
eliminating contest or tie-breaker round if necessary, whether previously stated or
not.
- The names and home town of each prize winner may be announced during the Programme
and can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope (SAE) to Competitions,
Planet 24 Productions Ltd, 195 Marsh Wall, London, E14 9SG. The SAE must be marked
with the name of the relevant competition.
- Prizes will usually be delivered within twenty eight (28) days of the Competition
closing date. Where relevant and unless specified otherwise, winners must be
available to take up the prize offered within twelve (12) months. If the winner
is unable to take up the prize, Planet 24 reserves the right to award the prize to
another winner, in which case, the first winner chosen will not be eligible for any
share of the prize whatsoever. Planet 24 reserves the right to substitute any prize
for an alternative prize of an equivalent nature and value.
- Planet 24 will not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or
disappointment suffered by any entrant entering any competition. Winners (and guests of
winners, where appropriate) may be asked to sign a Statement of Eligibility and Liability
and Publicity Release absolving Planet 24, Channel 4, and the prize donor of any and all
liability in respect of claims, demands, losses and liabilities of any nature whatsoever
(so far as is permitted by law) which entrants may be entitled to assert, including but not
limited to any death or injury, loss of enjoyment or other harm or loss of any nature
whatsoever caused by, contributed to, or arising out of the Prize. Failure or refusal to
sign such statement may, in Planet 24's sole discretion, lead to disqualification from
receiving the Prize and Planet 24, Channel 4, and the prize donor shall have no liability
in respect of same to the disqualified entrant.
- Planet 24 takes no responsibility and shall not be liable for any problems that
callers may encounter in getting their calls through howsoever arising.
- By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have accepted and agreed to
abide by all the rules. Failure to comply with any of these rules will disqualify any
entrant from taking part in the competition concerned. Planet 24 reserves the right to
disqualify any entry at its absolute discretion.
- In the case of postal competitions, no responsibility can be taken for entries lost,
delayed or damaged in the post. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of
delivery. Illegible entries will be disqualified.
