The Big Bran Hypothesis
It's geek central at Sheldon and Leonard's apartment, as fellow Cal Tech compadres Howard Wolowitz and Rajesh Koothrappali join them for a takeaway and a detailed discussion about the history of chopsticks in Thailand. Riveting stuff, until Penny (Sheldon and Leonard's gorgeous neighbour) interrupts things. She's having furniture delivered and she'll be out, so she asks Sheldon and Leonard a favour, to let the delivery guy in. Surely men of their IQ can fulfil this simple task?
Sheldon and Leonard's intelligence couldn't make up for their lack of brute force when the delivery man leaves them to take the furniture from the ground floor to the fourth floor. "Give me a fulcrum and a lever and I can move the Earth," says Leonard, but when it comes to moving flat-pack furniture he's a bit stumped. After a lot of procrastination about why Leonard agreed to this favour (the reason being to increase his chances of having sex with Penny, obviously), the pair finally get the furnishings into Penny's apartment, but Sheldon is shell-shocked about what he's confronted with.
To say Penny's apartment was a little messy may be an understatement to say the least. In fact, the state it's in brings out Sheldon's compulsive need to sort, organise and label the entire world around him.
Penny's untidiness has clearly been on Sheldon's mind when in the middle of the night he uses the spare keys that Penny's already given him to let himself in to harmonise her home - to make matters worse, Penny's actually asleep in the apartment at the time. Reluctantly Leonard joins in on the untimely spring clean.
Sheldon and Leonard quickly realise their mistake when their morning is greeted with a series of expletives coming from the direction of Penny's place. She ain't happy, so she talks things through with Raj, who he is very attentive to her needs (read: mute in the presence of her beauty). After a convoluted scientific based apology, the lovely Penny finally forgives Leonard. Aw!
