The Loobenfeld Decay
Penny rudely interrupts Leonard and Sheldon's riveting "Skynet is kinky" Terminator talk with her non-too-dulcet singing tones. She's in the midst of a vocal workout because she's been asked to replace a cast member in Rent for a one-off showcase, which Leonard and Sheldon have been invited to. Leonard thinks on his feet and rebukes the invite by claiming they'll be at a symposium on molecular posetronium, as you do.
Thinking that they're in danger of Penny seeing through their rouse, Sheldon conjures up another lie: an "un-unravel-able lie"! Penny believes that the pair are now going to participate in Sheldon's cousin’s drug intervention on Long Beach.
Worried that the "un-unravel-able lie" is not convincing enough, Sheldon recruits Toby Loobenfeld, a research assistant in particle physics who also holds a minor in theatre, to play the part of his drug addled cousin Leopald. Despite Toby's over-egging of the part, Penny eats up the story. Unfortunately for Leonard, there's still no escaping Penny's singing.
