Alex was a Big Brother 3 housemate in 2002 and was known for his obsession with cleanliness and his well-timed 'that's the way ah-ha, ah-ha I like it, ah-ha, ah-ha' sing song. While in the House he became embroiled in 'Wee-gate': he was furious when it was discovered that fellow housemate Jonny had been urinating in the shower.
Alex had a will-they-won't-they romance with Adele in the House - but sadly, they didn't. He stayed in the House until the end of the series, finishing in third place behind Kate and Jonny. In 2007 he returned to make a cameo appearance in Big Brother 8 in a time-travelling task.
