ChildLine ChildLine is the UK’s free helpline for children and young people. Trained volunteer counsellors are at the end of the line 24 hours a day, every day, to offer children support, advice and protection. Since ChildLine was launched in 1986, it has helped more than one and a half million children. Children turn to ChildLine for help with many problems - the most common are bullying, family tensions, physical abuse at home, and worries about other people such as friends and family members. Sadly, sexual abuse and pregnancy also figure highly in calls to ChildLine. Thankfully, children trust ChildLine and our counsellors can help identify an adult in their life whom they might feel able to talk to, and give the child support and encouragement to do that.

Greatwood Greatwood is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of ex-racehorses. As a registered charity, their aim is to provide the horses with a safe, secure and rewarding future. Greatwood acts as a safety net for horses after their racing days are over. They take in as many animals as they can, restoring their morale and retraining the horses for happy and useful lives in other disciplines. Rehabilitating ex-racehorses is expensive, but the horse could be priceless to the person who cares for it in the end. The horseracing industry has taken significant steps to help us minimise the problem cases among racehorses leaving the sport and gives us considerable financial support. However, this is barely a quarter of the costs of our overheads.

TIME TIME was founded in November 1991 as an 'umbrella' organisation for charities with an interest in promoting organ donation. Presently there are 30 national charity members each with a representative on the TIME Council. The objects of TIME include the following. To promote a wider knowledge, and understanding of, the needs of patients on transplant waiting lists. To co-operate with other organisations and statutory bodies with a view to improving the supply of donated organs. This is achieved mainly through the annual National Transplant Week. This year marks its fifteenth anniversary, which will take place from 1st - 15th July. TIME organises and co-ordinates this week which precedes the British Transplant Games (BTG) which are usually held annually in July. The aim is to increase public awareness to the need for organ donors. People who wish to donate their organs when they die are encouraged to register on the National Organ Donor Register and to carry the multi-organ donor card. One day is specifically highlighted as National Donor Day.
