Boot Camp Sergeants Michelle and Jason have learnt of the twist in the task and reacted with blank faces and shocked expressions as the news sunk in.
In a Sergeant-only Diary Room session the Voice of God told them there would be no nominations next week and that completion of the task and adherence to camp rules would result in an extra special privilege pass for the senior soldiers, Michelle and Jason.
That pass would mean the Sergeants were exempt from next week's public vote, however, all the privates would automatically face it.
Michelle winced at the news and they both took a sharp intake of breath.
Then Big Brigadier told them should they fail the task, or fail to adhere to camp rules, beyond the three allowed fails per day, the Sergeants would face the public vote with the privates getting immunity.

Jason shifted in his seat and looked away, taking on board the enormity of the task.
Big Brigadier also warned them that if news of their conversation reached the privates, the sergeants would face the public vote.
Solemnly, they left the Diary Room to address the troops.
Jason was bursting with information he couldn't disclose but he kept stressing to the ranks, "I can't tell you anything, but we really need to work hard."
Realising his privates were not girding their loins sufficiently, he emphasised, "I cannot tell you how important this is."
He's right. He cannot. Because if the squad fails, he gets to face the public vote...
