Taken To Task
Day 13, 18:51
They've been wearing their woggles with style for a few days but, now, it's time for the Big Brother Cub Scouts to do their duty.
Finally, the waiting was over and Big Brother revealed the details of the three-pronged task ahead of them:
1. Put up a tent, to be completed by three housemates with no help from the others.
2. Knot test, to be completed individually by five housemates, tying a selected knot in under a minute.
3. Questions on the Cub Scout movement, one question each, to be answered individually by the remaining housemates.
The gang were then allocated to the different tests by picking named tent pegs from a bag and Jon, Justine and Cameron were chosen to put up the tent.
Problem-solver Jon assumed the position of foreman offering wise words like a military general. The tension was palpable as Justine gritted her teeth, but prior bitching was set aside and they got on with the job in hand.
With unlimited time, they could afford to be perfectionists and took their time. Meanwhile, their fellow housemates sat inside, separated from the trusty trio by the patio doors. Unable to give any help, some of the group still vainly offered advice.

"Start again, it's worth getting it right," suggested Federico and Nush, who had spotted that "the middle peg isn't perfect, it's sticking out."
"It looks perfect to me," countered Gos, but Scott was expecting the worst. "It's going to take another two hours," he said wearily.
"Stand back, he's a crazed man," warned Justine as Cameron let fly with his mighty mallet.
"That's a good tent," stated Jon with confidence as they finished, causing the team to conclude that any more changes would have little effect.
And, as the sun set on the garden and the first part of the weekly task, Big Brother let them back into the House, to applause from the rest of the group.
Come back soon for more news on the task...
