HAIR products brand Schwarzkopf have struck it lucky with a campaign due to run early next year. Little did they know that the half-German model they signed up for the OSIS ads at the beginning of the year would end up being a household face before they even ran.
We spoke to Paul Freeman, brand manager with the company, to find out exactly why and how Big Brother's Alex came to be in front of the Schwarzkopf lens.
When and where was the shoot?
Much earlier this year in Hamburg, Germany.
Why did you choose Alex to be the face of the campaign?
He looked right for the brand. Osis is about young, sociable people who like to have serious fun...just like Alex!
Serious fun, eh, who's the other funky-looking model?
A Russian beauty called Luba.
So, how did you feel when you saw Alex on Big Brother and knew that he was the face of your campaign?
Obviously it was a bit of a pleasant surprise, although at first when he went into the House we were all thinking, "what is this guy actually going to be like!"

You're not alone there! When and where will we see the adverts?
Early 2003. We'll use the images in salons and with related advertising.
Do you think being so well-known will help Alex's modelling career?
Yes probably - it should definitely affect the amount of money he gets!
And how much did he get from you?
No comment!
Who was your favourite Big Brother housemate?
Well, I may be biased but it's got to be Alex - he was hilarious on occasions.
