Jonny: Joker In The Pack

HE seemed to settle in quickly to Big Brother life. By the third day Jonny had created a nickname for Jade - "Baba" - and the moniker was quickly adopted by other contestants.
Always the joker, Jonny initially relished playing up to the other housemates, usually joining forces with travel rep Alison in a bid to keep the group amused.
Just two days into Big Brother, the fireman organised an impromptu version of The Jerry Springer Show, using a cucumber for a microphone.
Jonny's coarse language was always a source of amusement for the others. He had the gang in fits of laughter on the morning of Day 06, when he asked: "Do I look as rough as a badger's arse?"
But Jonny's confidence was to be destroyed by Sandy just hours before the Scot's sudden departure on Day 20. "I thought I better tell you before I go," Sandy said. "I didn't like you. I find your humour very basic. I may as well be honest."
The Scotsman's cutting remark had a profound impact on the County Durham chap. Overnight he became a recluse and at times cut a lonely figure in the House.
However, it wasn't just Sandy who took exception to Jonny's behaviour. By confirming he had urinated in the shower, Jonny ruined his relationship with hygiene fanatic Alex and the latter used the incident as an excuse to nominate him ever since.
Then, after being nominated for a second time, Jonny felt the need to find out why he was so unpopular. Jade and Adele accused him of playing up to the cameras, and the fireman's mood took a turn for the worse once again.
He defended himself after confronting Jade and Adele about his so-called falseness, but never quite found out exactly why he and Alex did not see eye-to-eye.
Being on the rich side of the House for the first week after the divide went up hardly seemed to lighten his mood and making the transition to a life of poverty a week later didn't appear to ease his concern.

Yet the cheeky side to his character was never far away. On Day 28, he was the central figure in the hilarious chocolate heist that involved Jonny, Spencer and Kate disguising themselves under blankets and crossing the divide to steal from the food-packed fridge on the rich side.
As Jonny was the housemate who actually crossed the divide, he was duly given a strike and a stern ticking off from Big Brother. "It would have been better if a hatch came open and Big Brother gave me a punch," he joked. "They read the riot act to me in there."
A further nomination saw Jonny enter a pit of despair and paranoia. He regularly woke in the middle of the night to smoke and stare contemplatively around him. Finally Kate took him in hand and told him she would be getting his body clock back in order on Day 46. The two were firm friends from then on and the fireman's mood improved as he spent his days with Kate doing impressions, singing and dancing.
The two relished the Seventies theme party Big Brother held for them on Day 55, and as Jonny strutted around in his orange gear and large brown mullet wig, he told Kate: "We'll call you Lucy Lovelips, and I'm Leroy. Leroy Love."
The pair were almost inseparable and got so close that Kate even ended up giving Jonny a pedicure on Day 58. He returned his affection for Kate in other ways - bashing her over the head in many a pillow fight, pulling her along the floor during play fights and even throwing her into the pool on one occasion.
The final week saw Jonny finally mend some bridges with Alex. With the model's best friend Tim out of the way, the two sat down and talked to one another properly for the first time. It seemed 'Weegate' had been put firmly behind them as the boys teamed up to torment Kate by stealing her bedding on Day 62 and by hiding from Jade several times.
But now Jonny the joker is gone and the other housemates will miss him, but no doubt things will be a little quieter for them away from the pillow fighting, loo-roll throwing, king of the pranks.
