Winter Warmers for November
November, time to batten down the hatches and nest for winter. With Bonfire night on the fifth we've got reason to celebrate too! It's definitely time to get cosy again and with Schwartz there's no going wrong.Winter really doesn't need to be a hassle, but you do need to keep your energy levels up and healthy comfort food is top of our list. Warm sausage casseroles, hearty roasts after a big walk and perfect pasta for when you get home from a hard days work is a must.
This bonfire night, prepare a feast for friends and serve a warm mulled wine with baked apples, bangers and mash. With thanksgiving at the end of the month, who needs Christmas as an excuse for a turkey? (a great opportunity to practice if you're doing the Christmas dins for the first time too!) A roast lamb is also great get together grub, made with rosemary and one of our delicious gravies served up with veg with a twist, it's fun for all the family.
Apart from cooking great meals, why not get the dreaded Christmas shopping done early? Do last minute gardening and rake the lawn before the frost really starts kicking in? Or even do some home baked Christmas presents – home made marmalades and chilli jams make great gifts!
If all this activity sounds too much the simply curl up in front of an old black and white, throw together a tagine made with our twist and taste range, a honey roasted duck or curried cauliflower with cumin, open a bottle of red and hibernate. Whatever food mood you're in we've got it covered.
