The Pigeon Detectives
Leeds based Pigeon Detectives are best mates with a little known band called Kaiser Chiefs who give them a bit of advice every once in a while. But how did they get that name? Drummer Jimmi Naylor says "It came from an Australian guy who we met at the Leeds Festival. It became an in-joke and we thought nothing of it, but when it came to our first gig in Leeds the promoter was saying, 'What's your name?' we were like 'Oh, um The Pigeon Detectives.’
It’s been a meteoric rise to fame for The Pigeon Detectives having only signed to the Independent label Dance To The Radio about a year ago. Their debut album, Wait For Me was released on 28 May 2007 and only a few months later they were Jo Whiley’s Radio 1 show performing single ‘Take Her Back’. Phew!
The band supported Kaiser Chiefs on three of their November/December UK tour dates, and rounded off a memorable 2007 by appearing on Soccer AM live on Christmas Day. New album 'Emergency' is released this summer.
