Ne-Yo
At only 25-years old, Ne-Yo has already become R 'n' B royalty, with his first album 'In My Own Words' debuting at number one in the US charts (going platinum in its first week!) at the same time as his second single 'So Sick' also hit the top spot.
Just a year later he followed this with another album 'Because Of You' that also sold by the diamond-encrusted bucketload, with its clever melodies that drew inspiration from Motown greats like Smokey Robinson and Michael Jackson.
Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Chimere Smith) is in demand as a songwriter for others too. He's written for Mario, Rihanna and Beyonce and is working on projects for Whitney, Britney, Michael Jackson and Scooch (we might have made one of those up). Even our own Leona Lewis is in line for Ne-Yo's magic songwriting touch.
His third album 'Year Of The Gentleman' is out this summer, and the star recently told 4music all about the concept behind it and how it was inspired by Jay-Z's versatility and Kanye's dress sense.
