Consisting solely of former Test Icicles guitarist Dev Hynes, Lightspeed Champion are a million miles from the chaotic pre-new rave of his former band (who split unexpectedly, on the verge of success).
Lightspeed Champion’s debut album, ‘Falling Off Lavender Bridge’, is a gentle, introspective collection of songs inspired by dreams and reflections on his own life, including explanations for his much publicised, monk-like celibacy and abstinence.
The band’s performance of debut single ‘Galaxy Of The Lost’, at this year’s NME Awards, proved a highlight of the evening as Dev and friends dressed as characters from the film Star Wars.
