Camden stales market has a large concentration of alternative shops from gothic to punk and has a ban on chain stores.

Inverness Street Market has been a traditional street market for over 100 years. It still boasts a number of great fruit and vegetable stalls but now also includes many stalls selling clothes, bags and other goods. It is also lined with some of Camden's leading restaurants and bars.

In spite of its name, this is not the main Camden market. A smallish area of outdoors stalls but definitely worth a look - selling a variety of new and secondhand clothes and CDs. It was even host to the original stall selling magic mushrooms - a business that seemed to take over Camden before eventually being made illegal.

Camden Lock Market, this is the market that started it all in back in 1972 with a bohemian collection of outdoor stalls selling esoteric bric a brac. Now considerably tidied up, its indoor and outdoor markets still offer a huge selection of original arts and crafts, original designer clothes, delicious food stalls and boat trips along the canal. A great atmosphere - its the jewel of Camden.

Stables Market is the largest and most colourful of the markets. A converted Victorian horse hospital, it provides a seemingly endless maze of cobbled alleyways, converted warehouses and covered outdoor eating areas. Everything from cyberpunk to vintage clothing, esoteric record stores and unusual furniture.
