Twenty year old James Collins is a Music Business Student who wanted to be a Chancer to use the platform to showcase his talents. What makes him stand out from the rest? James feels that his talent for singing and songwriting are his outstanding features as an artist. He is able to play the piano and the guitar as well as produce his own music. James says that he has had a soulful sounding voice since 16 years old. He claims that his style is versatile and that he is capable of singing at different tempos and in different genres. He is into soul, blues, indie, and hip hop and has been playing the guitar since guided towards it by a music teacher as a release from family troubles he was facing at the time. His influences include Brian McKnight, Sisqo, Lionel Ritchie, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Barry White, Luther Vandross and Michael Bolton! In five years time James would like to have established himself as a solid singer/songwriter whose talent has spread across the world.


James describes himself as complex, sensitive, determined, disciplined and wise, while he is in America James is going to miss his mother and his girlfriend, when asked if he had any pets James answered ‘his brother and sister’ who are both younger. If he could spend 24 hours locked in a room with a celebrity he chose Beyonce’s father as he admires him.
