What time did you arrive at the venue?
June and I arrived at the venue, which this year was a huge marquee by the docks in Edinburgh, at about 4.30pm. Most of the other crews had already set up backstage and the T4 team were putting the final touches to our interview room backstage where we chatted to the celebs.

Was the catering any good?
I only had time to neck some traditional Irn Bru before we had to head out to the red carpet area and wait for the stars to arrive.

What did you and June have to do before the event started?
Straight after the red carpet we had to head backstage again in time for the guests coming backstage after their appearances. June by now had finished applying her lipgloss and is ready to roll, she's looking very glam and I'm in my best Burton gear.

Did you get nervous before you went out on the red carpet?
I don't get nervous interviewing on the red carpet anymore as I've done quite a few of them now although they're not all as good as the EMA's. The only downfall was the screaming girls opposite us, very big lungs they had and there's always a bit of jostlig for the best position but at least we weren't penned in with all the photographers.

Who did you manage to speak to? How did you get their attention?
I was really lucky that most of the celebs recognised me and came over for a chat, at one point I was interviewing Travis while Beyonce was hovering around waiting her turn. I got to speak to virtually everyone, including Christina Aguilera, Travis, Mark Owen, the Darkness, Minnie Driver, and of course Avid Merrion who is always err unpredictable!

Did you get a chance to see any of the actual show or were you backstage all the time?
It's always a shame that we never actually get to see any of the show, we can hear it and we have a live feed on the TV in our room of what's going on on stage but we can't go in the auditorium to watch so we only really see what everyone sees at home.

Who were you most excited about seeing?
I was really looking forward to seeing the Darkness, they walked the carpet twice, first time round they didn't stop and then second time they came over for a chat, very cool.

Who was the nicest person you interviewed?
Michael Stipe was a really nice bloke to interview.

Who was the most attractive?
If my Tess had been there she would have been the most beautiful lady there but in her absence I have to say Kylie was lovely and happy to reveal her undies to June!

What time did you finish working? Did you go to the aftershow party?
The evening went pretty quickly but we didn't finish working until 1am and we had early flights back to London in the morning so no aftershow parties for us, it was back to the castle we were staying at for a well deserved rest.

Had you been to Scotland before? Did you like it?
I've been to Edinburgh a few times before and really liked it but the town is much busier than normal and there's a real buzz in the air.
