Top 10 Christmas Capers

Image 5. Monkey Snowfight
Proof here that the art of snowball-throwing requires a bit of thought as well as quick reactions, in a two-player "choose strength and angle" duel featuring that well-known inhabitant of wintery habitats, the monkey. Maybe they're "Arctic Monkeys". Anyway, apart from bonus "banana bombs", the other gimmick here is that you can chat to your online opponent to try and put them off, or ask them what their favourite "Planet Of The Apes" movie is, that sort of thing.

Image 4. 3D Snow Fight
Further snowball-throwing, this time in the 3-dimensional style of what they call "first-person shooters" like "Quake" and "Doom". But with snowmen instead of hideously out-of-control genetically mutated zombies, obviously. You can climb up onto the buildings or run away from him and concentrate on knocking down his snowmen - either way, it's the only 3D shooter we've seen where you reload by crouching down and just scrunching together more ammo.

Image 3. Turkey To Go
Purists might argue that this was presumably an American Thanksgiving tie-in, but by doing so they'd be missing out on one of the quickest mouse-controlled object-collectors out there. You help a recently plucked turkey flit around the table, avoiding forks while collecting feathers and powerups - powerups which all do fairly interesting things (like making you enormous), by the way. "Bootiful", as Bernard Matthews might say.

Image 2. Grow Ornament
The Grow series of games have always had a place in our hearts here at 4Games and with so many to choose from (including Grow V2, Grow Cube, Grow RPG, Chronon and even an unofficial Tribute to Grow)- this seasional edition is a treat. Just like all the other games in the series, you need to select the correct sequence of items to reveal the ending.

Image 1. Snowcraft
An oldie, but a real Christmas classic that's as welcome as a repeat of It's a Wonderful Life. Snowcraft sets your squad of three red snowball-throwers against vast enemies of rival green ones. There's a slight loophole that enables you to fly through most of the levels (click through to the next page to see how), but there's still nothing more satisfying than hitting someone right in the face with a well-placed snowball and sending them flying.
