Tony Blair became leader of the Labour party in 1994 and went on to win the 1997 General Election after 18 years in Opposition.
At the age of 43, he became the youngest Prime Minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812. He immediately began his campaign for the modernisation of the Labour Party...
His latter years in office have been dominated by foreign policy issues - notably the 'war on terror'.
He stepped down as Prime Minister on 27 June 2007. To mark the occasion, Channel 4 is showing three programmes about Tony Blair (see below).
