What not to say... We very much want to hear your opinion, but we don't want you to waste your time sending us comments that we can't use! So please keep these things in mind when making your comment: (advice in italics mainly applies to comments which include a webcam video clip)

Keep it short and sweet: if you're sending us an email comment then try and keep it short - no more than 200 words - if you can. (For video comments, try to say what you have to say in 60 seconds, and keep your video files smaller than 5MB. If you just have to say more - well, break it up into smaller pieces.)

Watch Your Language: please try to keep it clean, and avoid using swear words or bad language. After all, you want as many people to hear what you have to say about TV as possible.

Personal Attacks: we want you to complain and criticise the TV programmes you watch. But we don't want personal attacks. So try and avoid saying anything about someone (whether you know them or not!) that might offend them or just isn't true. If you do attack someone unfairly then we are unlikely to feature your comment on ThinkTV. (In video comments, also make sure that no music, video or TV footage is playing in the background. And keep an eye out for posters, clothing, etc that feature your favourite designer brands. For copyright reasons, comments including any of these are unlikely to feature them on ThinkTV.)

Stick to the Format: For email comments, just use the box provided on our form. (For video comments, save your files as .avi or QuickTime files. MPEG's are also OK. Please do NOT send in video emails. And take your time choosing the right video compressor to find the best balance between quality and size - 160 x 120 pixels is large enough, image-wise. But don't click the 'no compression' option as this will make your file massive.)

Make it Watchable (video comments only): no-one likes watching glare, so try and avoid reflective surfaces (mirrors, white walls), strobing and bright lights in the background in your video comments. Sound is usually much clearer than pictures so make sure there's no background noise (music, voices, the hoover!) - we want to hear what you have to say! Try not to hold your microphone too close to your mouth as this can create static (and record your heavy breathing!) - use an external mike if you can. If we can't figure out what you're saying then we won't be able to use it.

But remember, we're not looking for perfect, polished performances. Sure, figure out what you want to say but don't waste too much time practising it - just say it, save it and send it.

Tune In. Turn On. Speak Out.

Welcome to ThinkTV.

Do you... Love TV? Hate TV?

Are you fed up with what you get on your TV? Or do you think it's great?

Want to get it off your chest? Want to tell broadcasters just where they're going wrong?

ThinkTV is the new website which gives you the chance to tell us what you really think about what's on your telly — on any channel. If you just can't believe what you've just watched, just have to tell someone how great TV is or have a real problem with what all those TV bosses serve up as 'programmes', then ThinkTV is THE PLACE for you.

Want to get involved, want to have your say? Well, here's how:

What can I say?

ThinkTV is all about television. So we want your thoughts, criticisms, praises, reactions, opinions, complaints, applause, views... whatever on ANYTHING on British TV. So that's the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, cable, satellite and digital TV. It could be about your favourite programme or a show you hate; an advert; the news; when programmes are put on; how issues are covered, what's not on... or just something that you've watched that you want to talk about and get off your chest.

Please note: ThinkTV is not a fan site. It's all about what you think of TV.

How do I say it?

You can make your comment by:

Where can I say it?

If you're lucky enough to have a webcam kit or a computer that's hooked up to the Internet at home, work or college... fantastic! Just follow our tips and send us your video or email comment NOW!
