WATCHING SHORTS

Shorts on TV
On TV, Channel 4 has the only regular, weekly short films screenings in prime time with their excellent Three Minute Wonders at 7:55pm, Monday to Thursday. Each week, four different films are shown, on the same theme and all made by new filmmakers.

In addition to Three Minute Wonders, you can also see lots of great shorts on FILM4. Details and full listings here.

Short Film Screenings
Future Shorts is an international short film network with UK screenings in London, Edinburgh, Brighton, Bristol, Colchester, Cornwall and Manchester.

Shorts online
There are so many places to see films online that we could give you a list of websites that would go on forever! But we've picked out some of the best sites that are well worth checking out:

Four Docs - the Channel 4 site dedicated to short, four-minute documentaries. Watch the films, learn how to make them or submit your own short.

Film Network - Partnerships between the UK Film Council and BBC, resulting in loads of short films of all shapes and sizes. Lots of good advice for filmmakers too, plus the option of submitting your own film.

Pixar Shorts - It's not just about the technical achievement with Pixar - they also do great short stories! Brilliant in every way.

Pocket Movies - Lots of good shorts available for download in all different formats. Top of the bunch is Prey Alone, an incredible ten minute action flick from Ireland that looks like it's straight out of Hollywood!

YouTube - The ubiquitous video sharing site. You may have to go through a lot of rubbish before finding something decent, but when you do it's usually worth it!
