Just four simple stages could see your story come to life on the small screen...
STAGE ONE:
• Send us your story on the theme of identity. You don't have to write a brilliant piece of fiction - this is documentary, not drama. So just tell us about yourself - who you are and what you do.
• Check out the SHORT FILMS and FAQs section on this site, which should give you an idea of what we're looking for.
• When you're ready, fill in the details on the online form and just press send. It's that simple!
STAGE TWO:
• The best 16 entrants nationwide will be asked to document a week in their life and how they feel about their identity (equipment will be provided).
• If you're selected, we'll give you all the info, tools and support you need to make this happen. It's dead easy. If you know how to keep a blog or a diary and how to take pictures or videos on a mobile camera phone then you're half way there. And if you don't know how to do that, we'll show you.
STAGE THREE:
• The eight people who have best captured their own stories and the theme of identity will be invited to four days of dedicated workshops at Channel 4 in London during the week of 30th July - 3rd August 2007. If selected, you will be teamed up with your own producer and director - your team will be asked to create a 59-second film version of your story.
STAGE FOUR:
• The four best teams are then selected and given the opportunity to produce three-minute version of their films with professional kits, crews and to broadcast standards, with full participation of you, the original writer.
• If chosen, you'll learn how to get a story from page to screen with top industry professionals!
• Winning filmmakers will be invited to an industry launch party at Channel 4, where the films will be screened for the first time
• If your film is good enough to impress our commissioning editors, there's a chance it could be screened on Channel 4 in a prime-time slot to an audience of 1million+ viewers, across the UK.
Last year all four films were commissioned and broadcast in the 3 Minute Wonder slot (7.55pm Monday to Thursday). If you missed them, you can check them out here.
