Why make a short?
There are lots of reasons. Some do it because they want a career in film and it's a great place to start. Others do it just because they have a brilliant story to tell and it's a good way to tell it.
But it's also an excellent way to get real experience of working in a team. It's an incredible buzz to hook up with some like-minded people and all pull together to create something great.
You can share the experience with long-standing friends or find new friends along the way - just as long as everyone knows their role and they all do their part.
The one thing that all successful short filmmakers have in common is that they are passionate about what they are doing - whatever their reasons may be for doing it.
