It's interesting to compare now with 1982, how different things are. In many ways, things have not changed (and there's certainly a lot of underlying, subtle racism today) but to think back to 1981 when there was the Brixton Riots - the spontaneous crowd reaction to what they perceived as black harrassment etc. That's not to say such riots won't re-surface, of course.
