Sri Lankan soprano Kishani Jayasinghe, received a Masters degree in Law from the University of Nottingham in 2002. She is currently in her final year of study at Royal Academy Opera, under the tutelage of Noelle Barker and Audrey Hyland.
Her operatic roles include Mimi (La bohéme), Pamina (Magic Flute), Sandrina (La finta giardiniera), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) Leila (The Pearl Fishers), Soprano Actress (Night at the Chinese Opera) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas). She has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Barbican and St. Martin in the Fields.
Future performances include Berg's Sieben Frühe Lieder (New Bristol Sinfonia) and Mahler Symphony No 4 (Bath Philharmonia).
Kishani will join the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in September 2006. She will make her Royal Opera House debut as Chloe (The Queen of Spades). She will also sing Ines (Il trovatore) for the ROH and cover Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni).
