Mozart Lovers celebrates the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth with a story of two couples at a moment of crisis, inspired by a 12-minute opera quartet from Mozart's opera Die Entführung Aus Dem Serai. The quartet forms the basis for 4 x 3 min episodes, sung in English by four young opera singers, set in contemporary London.
The original opera staged in Turkey depicts four characters thrown into emotional turmoil by a change of context. The quartet scene on which Mozart Lovers is based is a microcosm of that bigger story, and follows the journey of four characters struggling to find out the truth behind their relationships. The quartet is set out in 4 paragraphs – the inspiration for our 4 films.

Each episode is a complete story, featuring the same four characters:
Yamillah – a successful city worker, who lives in a beautiful flat
Muhammar – her long-term intense boyfriend
Yasmin – her wild flatmate
Mustapha – Yasmin's volatile partner.
Mozart’s brilliant orchestration has been the inspiration for a smallscreen version of his music, played on a single, contemporary instrument.
