Lost for Words: Our Aims
THE FIGHT TO HELP KIDS READ
One in five children leaves primary school unable to read properly.
Lost For Words is a Channel 4 season of campaigning programmes to get all our kids reading.
We believe:
- All children in mainstream schools are capable of learning to read.
- All children should be taught to read in school, for an hour every day, until they are able to read properly.
- Everyone who cares about our children's education needs to ask: what more can I do?
If you want to support the Lost for Words campaign, please raise this issue with your child's teacher, your local councillor and your MP.
