Kirkhill Primary School, Aberdeen Transforming everyday experiences and objects into fresh and lively art installations was the name of the game for Kirkhill Primary School. Encouraged by teacher Lorraine Brodie and artist Julia Douglas, the children explored their past experiences to come up with some artistic inspiration. Nothing was discounted and the children used everything as a platform, from places they'd visited to exciting or unusual things they'd seen, eaten, worn or owned. The pupils then worked on and displayed these ideas in new and refreshing ways, creating screenprints, monoprints, photograms and digital images. A central piece in the exhibition was a dress made of gloves, onto which each pupil had printed an image of an everyday fastening. The pupil's then helped to curate an exhibition of their project at Peacock Arts. Kirkhill Primary School, Aberdeen enquiries@kirkhill.aberdeen.sch.uk |
