A tendency to cover the dining room table with crayon and indelible marker pen doesn't necessarily make a child interested in art at school or in a gallery. That's where the innovative Artworks project comes in.

To make sure no future artistic talent goes unnoticed, the Clore Duffield Foundation created Children's Art Day and the Artworks: Young Artist of the Year Awards.

The Awards, in their fifth successful year, are the UK's top art education prizes and are designed to help children and teens to engage with art in all its forms.

Following on from the presentation of the Awards on Children's Art Day, 1 July, events will continue throughout the weekend with special art activities taking place in schools, community centres, museums and galleries across the country.
