Charles Edward Brooke School, Lambeth
This digital installation is the result of a collaboration between digital artist Holly Warburton, teacher Melhia Hughes and all of the Year 9 pupils of Charles Edward Brooke School in Lambeth.
After visiting the National Gallery and taking Hogarth's series of paintings Marriage À La Mode as their inspiration, the girls researched 18th century interior designs, fashions and textiles as well as the customs and values of the times.
Working in collaboration, the girls did a number of photo shoots, reinterpreting the 18th century for contemporary times. Images were then juxtaposed onto paintings of interiors. The final result is Digital Marriage À La Mode, a four-screen installation with willow sculptures referencing women's clothing of the time.
