Further training resources
If your experience on the ORIGINATION: INSITE project has inspired you to develop your skills further - or perhaps to go on a refresher course - you will find here information about the full-time, part-time and distance-learning website-building courses available, locally and UK wide, through further education colleges and other government-funded initiatives.
Please note that while Channel 4 can direct you to the resources listed in this document, it cannot recommend or comment on individual courses.
Please note that the information in this document on individual colleges and courses has been obtained from the HERO website and the organisations themselves. This does not necessarily mean that they are the only website courses run in your area. Please use the HERO website and other means, such as library information services, to check for other courses.
Please bear in mind also that course content, times, costs (where applicable), telephone numbers, and email and website addresses may change periodically for any number of reasons. Please, therefore, use the information and contact details provided to make your own enquiries to find out about and confirm:
• course starting and finishing times
• skills required to get onto the course (if any)
• costs (if any)
• how the courses are run (number of tutors, people per class/session, etc)
• software packages covered, eg Dreamweaver, Microsoft Frontpage, Fireworks, CorelDraw, Photoshop, Netscape Composer and so on
• technical level achieved (beginner, intermediate, advanced, etc)
• whether or not the course leads to formal qualifications
•
and anything else that is relevant to your own particular requirements.
