The Human Canvas

Kira O'Reilly

Kira has performed all over Europe as well as creating bespoke video films of her performances for exhibition. Her work is mostly known through anecdotes as she aims her live performances at small, intimate audience... so only a few people witness them.

In trying to explore the core of the relationship between audience and performer, Kira has invited members of the audience to cut her as part of the performance. For her, this social interaction is as much a part of her art as the piece itself. However, she is not interested in jeopardising her health and meticulously researches and prepares each performance in advance.
