Philip Achille (LTCL) is 17 years old and a music scholar at Solihull School in the West Midlands. He has been playing the Chromatic Harmonica for the last 8 years and has enjoyed taking part in more than 20 festivals, competitions and concerts in 6 countries (UK, USA, Holland, France, Germany and Estonia).

In November 2005, he became the World Youth Harmonica Champion in the Solo Chromatic category at the World Harmonica Festival in Germany, which is held every 4 years. So far this year he has received the Tabor Foundation Award at the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2006 competition at The Sage in Gateshead, and he won the Starbucks Young Musician 2006 contest at the Birmingham International Jazz Festival.

In addition to the Chromatic Harmonica, Philip plays the saxophone, piano and double bass. He plays in numerous orchestras and bands at his school and with the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra in Birmingham.

He’s currently studying A-Levels in Music, Human Biology and Chemistry. Upon completion in summer 2007, he'd like to study music for a year at a music college in London, before going to university. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his band The Hedonists.

Philip performs J S Bach's Air on a G String accompanied by Oroh Angiama on bass and Howard Goodall on Hammond organ.
