Russell T Davies Swansea-born creator of some of our best drama series. Currently being lionised for breathing new life into Dr Who. Taboo-busting scripts have included Queer As Folk, Casanova.
Helen Griffin Playwright. Best-known play, Flesh and Blood.
Terry Jones Ex-Python, writer and director. His films include Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Labyrinth and Eric the Viking. Has recently been on TV presenting his series Medieval Lives.
Meic Povey* Made his reputation with Welsh-language plays including Tair and Sylw. Switched to English with Indian Country, about the impact of a Hollywood film crew descending on a Snowdonia village. His latest play is Life of Ryan ... and Ronnie, about a 70s Welsh entertainment duo.
Julian Richards Up-and-coming screenwriter and director. His work includes Silent Cry, The Last Horror Movie, and Darklands, a horror film about modern pagans set in industrial Wales.
Kevin Allen Actor/director/writer whose film Twin Town, about scams and feuds in Swansea, starred Rhys Ifans before Notting Hill made him famous.
Ed Thomas Internationally successful playwright whose House of America was made into a film. Also writes for TV.
