Holidays in hell

Terrorism threatens Britain, but in some countries it's a daily reality. Here are a few countries it would be particularly wise to cross off your holiday list:

• Indonesia – some provinces are in a state of civil war. Groups linked to al-Qaeda pose a high risk to Westerners throughout the country.
• Colombia – South American centre of the cocaine industry. Rebel groups frequently kidnap Western tourists. Currently suffering an outbreak of yellow fever.
• Chechnya – Rebellious region of the Russian Federation. The rebels are known for their use of terrorist tactics, including suicide bombing.
• India – the Kashmir region, disputed with Pakistan, is the place to go if you want to get shot at or kidnapped.
• Burundi – small African republic, famous in the 1980s for its tribal drumming and in the 1990s for genocidal ethnic conflict. Stay away.

So, looks like Ibiza again ...
