Sleeping with my Sister
Shared FeelingsWhat the love stories share is a sense of helplessness, that none of these couples can stop their feelings: "Living without Danielle," says Nick, "is like living without a part of myself." "He's everything to me," says Stefanie of Tom, "he makes my marriage look like I've been living with my room-mate for the past fifteen years."
What these stories also share is anger: that they're adults, just ordinary people who were strangers before they met, and are now consenting adults who love each other. Tom and Stefanie look to a future when GSA couples might be accepted: "I don't understand what the crime is," says Tom. "We are just two human beings in love."
But after the court case there is a cautionary note to Nick's story: "If I'd known about GSA before, I think forewarned is forearmed and I don't think it would have happened because I probably wouldn't have let it happen But I still love her and that is not going to change for anybody."
