Alain Robert is on the 88th floor of a skyscraper. Looking down at the city hundreds of feet below, his heart is pounding, and his palms are sweating. It wouldn't be so bad, except that he's on the outside of the building, clinging on with his bare hands. Distant police sirens are wailing, security men above are shouting instructions, and the crowd of thousands that has gathered below is staring open-mouthed. But this is no accident, and Robert is no would-be suicide.
Dubbed 'The Human Spider', he is arguably the most daring climber the world has ever seen. This heart-stopping documentary follows Robert on his quest to 'free climb' some of the tallest buildings in the world – no climbing tools, no safety devices, just his bare hands and a lot of guts. Not to mention a disregard for the law, as climbing these buildings is often illegal. And the married father-of-three undertakes these extreme challenges despite suffering from epilepsy.
The Human Spider features exclusive footage of Robert's recent climb in London where he scaled Portland House in Westminster, plus some of his other incredible climbing feats including: Jin Mao tower in Shanghai, the world's fourth tallest building; Berlin's Debis Tower; and Europe's tallest building, the Federation Tower in Moscow. It also features stunning archive footage of Robert's previous climbs, which have included the Eiffel Tower, the Centrepoint Tower in Sydney and some of the most famous skyscrapers in the world.
