The Seven Wonders of the Muslim World

Spain
An African Muslim migrant prays at a mosque near a short stay immigration centre in the Spanish enclave of Melilla, North Africa. Melilla was conquered by Spain in 1497 and today is a route into Europe by African migrants. This picture was taken in 2005 after several migrants were killed or injured trying to cross the fence that separates the Spanish enclave from Morocco. A number were deported to their native countries, and according to Amnesty International, hundreds of migrants were left by the Moroccan security forces without food and water in desert areas near the Algerian border.
