The Seven Wonders of the Muslim World

Indonesia
Muslims arrive in Jakarta in a small boat for the Eid-al-Adha celebrations, marking the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Indonesia is the world’s largest chain of islands, and various different forms of Islam are practised throughout its 5,000-km span. These include radical lslamists such as Jemaah Islamiah, the group behind the bombing of the Bali nightclub in October 2002. At the same time, progressive Muslim groups have resisted attempts to impose a single, authoritarian version of Islam across the whole country.
