Now in its 15th year, the British Book Awards – known as "The Nibbies" – is the biggest, gliztiest award ceremony in the book calendar and the event that celebrates the nation’s favourite books and publishers.
This year's British Book Awards took place on the 29th March 2006 at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London and was presented by Richard and Judy. They were televised for the first time this year in an hour long programme first shown on Saturday 1st April at 6.00pm on Channel 4 and repeated on More4 at 5.00pm on Sunday 2nd April.
