Cai Guo Qiang and Zaha Hadid: project for the 2004 Lapland Snow Show

Project for the 2004 Lapland Snow Show by Cai Guo Qiang and Zaha Hadid using ice, snow, vodka and fire. The Snow Show, in northern Finland, brought together teams of artists and architects, working with volunteers to forge freestanding structures and installations of snow and ice. The works were restricted to 9 metres (30 feet) in height and no more than 93 square metres (1,000 square feet) of ground coverage; the only other constraint being the knowledge that as temperatures climbed the art would melt (photo: © Jeffrey Debany, 2004.
