The Channel 4 art collection consists of works by emerging artists including Mark Titchner, Michael Fullerton and Shez Dawood.
Since the beginning of 2008, we have been working with well-known artists to identify the most interesting new talent for us to show within Channel 4. Each artist recommends 2 or 3 young artists whose work is exhibited on loan in the Channel 4 building. At the end of the 3 month term, Channel 4 staff get a chance to vote which works they would like to buy to add to the permanent collection.
After adding up the votes from the first round of voting, with works selected by Mark Titchner, Matt and Ross’ Icon pictures have been added to our collection, and the next stage is about to begin.
Acclaimed Ghanaian artist El Anatsui, the next and 3rd artist to customise the Big4, has recommended two young Nigerian artists; Nnenna Okore and Amarachi Okafor. Nnenna and Amarachi’s work will be on display in the Horseferry Road offices from Monday 12th March.
