Jason Oddy was born in 1967 and currently lives and works in London. His work has been published and exhibited internationally and is included in many private and corporate collections, including Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Oddy is represented by The Photographer's Gallery, London.
Much of Oddy's work deals with the relationship of human beings with the built environment, often exploring how interiors can be an expression of a particular social environment. The two photographs by Oddy featured in the Channel 4 collection are both titled Untitled, Palace of the Nations, Geneva, Switzerland and were made in 1999). The first of these features a row of coffee pots set against a coffee coloured wood panelled wall. The second photograph is of United Nation Pigeon Holes. In their formal composition and choice of subject matter, these photographs speak of the aesthetics of institutional control and governmental functionality.
