We're looking for ideas that are worth staying up for
4Music is both the music video channel (a joint venture with Box Television, previously The Hits) and the post midnight music zone on C4.

With even more restricted budgets than T4, wherever possible we are looking for ideas which work across several platforms - i.e. T4, the 4Music channel and potentially late night C4.

With the exception of the music video zones on the 4Music channel and in T4, which are produced in-house at Box Television, 4Music (both the channel and late night zone on C4) is built on low cost acquisitions and ad-funded formats which are innovative and pioneering. Recent 4Music programming has included music series such as T-Mobile Transmission,Shockwaves Album Chart Show, artist specific one-off shows such as 4Music Presents… Pink, 4Music Sessions: Alphabeat and 4Music Favourites: Doves. We've also commissioned a number of one-off programmes based around live events;Bestival 2008, Snowbombing 2009andXbox Campfire Sessions(C4 only).

4Music events have included unique coverage ofWireless Festival 2008, Vodafone Live Music Awards 2008,Orange Rockcorps with Sony Ericcsson and Channel 4, and our weekend coverage of V Festival.

We want to continue covering a variety of one-off specials and theme nights on both C4 and the 4Music channel which consist of music performance shows and docs. The best theme nights are often tied in to a specific anniversary or date so a sexy hook always helps and is important when submitting ideas. Again, cost effectiveness is very much a key factor here.

We are interested in innovative, yet appealing programme ideas and music related formats. Slots are dependent upon the idea.
