Channel4.com reaches over 6 million unique users every month.

The site performs several functions - to support programming on all Channel 4's TV channels, create great public service content, enhance Channel 4's brand reputation with rich and innovative content and generate commercial returns.

The site covers a broad range of subjects and is not limited to TV programming. Some of these sections directly support on air programming (Wife Swap, Big Brother), whilst others are wholly independent (4Money, 4Car).

To develop the site further New Media is looking to commission three types of content that make best use of the web platform :

Innovative on-line formats:
We're looking for ideas that use the medium in an innovative and compelling way, provide great utility or are revenue generating. Ideally a combination of all three.

For example the property search on, www.channel4.com/4homes takes the data from several online property sites to create a single powerful property database. Our Fantasy Football site www.channel4.com/sport/microsites/F/fantasyfootball/ allows users to select their team of players and challenge friends and colleagues.

Commission features
For 'magazine sites' eg 4Homes, Film, 4Money, 4Car, and dedicated programme support sites eg Big Brother, How Clean Is Your House.

Intrinsically multi-platform interactive formats
For example, Time Team, The Salon and Big Brother.
